Joshua Duncan has been providing professional martial art instruction for the city of Lomita and its surrounding communities since 1996 and takes great pride in adhering to the highest standards of personal conduct and providing each student with the highest quality training experience.
Joshua is member of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation® and is internationally certified by the Moo Duk Kwan® as a master level instructor (Sa Bom) and 6th degree black belt (Dan) of the Soo Bahk Do® martial art system which was founded in Korea in 1945 by martial art legend Hwang Kee.
In addition to helping each student develop effective self defense skills and personal protection awareness, Joshua also advocates a very strong set of core values and encourages a sense of service and duty in each student he teaches while leading by example. Such service includes participating in local city events (911 Memorial, Veterans Day and Memorial Day Ceremonies), supporting Ronald McDonald House Charity, Food and Toy drives along with other charitable endeavors.
Over the years Joshua and the students of Lomita Park Soo Bahk Do® have provided numerous public service seminars and personal safety training events for local residents plus dozens of demonstrations encouraging citizen’s to experience Soo Bahk Do®.
He has served as a member of California Dan Team representing Region 9 in National competitions, served as Chairman of the Federation’s National Vision Tour Committee, served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan FOUNDATION which is the charitable non-profit arm of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation members’ organization and today he serves as an appointed Regional Examiner for the members of Region 9 in the U.S. Federation.
